4. Featured Presentation: (20-30 min) "People First, Assets Second: Thoughtful Integration of Change
Management in Utility Asset Management Programs" – by Margaret Gadzic & Sagarika Naik
This presentation will provide an overview of key terms and frameworks for both asset management and
change management. We will then discuss the benefits of change management in asset management
programs and the key steps to success followed by an exercise to illustrate the benefits of a thoughtful
approach to integrating change management with asset management.
Margaret Gadzic leads the National Asset Management Practice for Arcadis. She has been with
Arcadis for over 10 years working in both asset management program development and
implementation support and change management. Since obtaining both her Institute of Asset
Management certificate and her Prosci certification in 2021, she has been passionate about
connecting the dots between change management and asset management and integrating the
two practice areas. She has successfully designed customized change management plans for
several utility clients experiencing significant organizational change such as department
restructuring, implementation of new asset management processes, and roll out of new
software.
Sagarika holds a MS in information management and is currently working as a management
consultant for Arcadis. Sagarika has worked as a consultant and data analyst on various business
advisory projects encompassing inventory management, capital investment planning,
enterprise risk management, financial reporting, and sustainability & environment health and
safety management. Sagarika is also a Prosci certified change management practitioner, and
Microsoft certified data analyst associate. She has been involved in the business analysis,
development, and implementation of IT solutions and has experience using enterprise asset
management software, Arc/GIS, PMIS software, computerized maintenance management
system (CMMS) software, and SQL software.
